Sabrina Bowling - from Youtube:
Here's a real oddity. " celebrity Lanes" was a syndicated bowling series that aired on American television in the early 1960s. This episode, believed to be from 1961, features two celebrities, night club entertainer Milt Kamen and British TV star Sabrina in a doubles competition with their pro bowling partners Phillis Notaro and Lou "Wrong Foot" Campi.
Campi won the first-ever PBA tournament in 1959. And Notaro was the 1961 All Star Champion.
George DeWitt, best known for hosting '50s musical quiz show "Name That Tune," [and rumoured in 1960 to be dating Sabrina] serves as emcee, and a very young Chris Schenkel handles play-by-play.
Celebrities would bowl the first ball in each frame, and their pro partner would bowl the second ball. Blue pins, if knocked down on the first ball, would add $1,000 to the total winnings for the celebrity, with all winnings donated to a college or university. This is very quirky...to say the least.

And Sabrina's bowling talent in Part 2
Editorial: It's odd that in her arrival in part 1, Sabrina says that she's brought "her equipment" and coyly looks downwards.
It's interesting because
(1) she had been trying to downplay the importance of her bust, yet now seems to playing that angle again, and
(2) the guy didn't seem to get the joke at all. |

It was a minor miracle when Shelley Thomas didn't collide with his favorite Sabrina at the Harwyn, because Joyce Miracle with whom he was two-timing, was so late in dressing that Sabrina (who was also two-timing) was gone when he arrived.

Sabrina Wow!
Caught the show last Wednesday nite and SABRINA was there on the PLANATATION ROOM [sic] stage of the Colonial Inn in all her measurements.
If you see this young lady in person you can understand why she stole all the glances from royalty in her native England.
RALPH LOWE did his usual masterful job and SEENA rounded out the show. This Monday IRVING FIELDS brings in his New York band direct from tho Astor Roof.
(SABRINA will be interviewed direct from the WTCX FM studio’s tonite Friday at 5:30 P.M. by ye [sic] Connoisseur)

Spectacular Sabrina Heads Four-Act Show
by Dave Branch
The busiest man at the Colonial Inn these days is the guy who changes the lettering on the sign out front.
The new management of the St. Petersburg Beach Club has more entertainment coming and going than Jack Paar.
Wednesday night Sabrina, a spectacular blonde from Britain, joined the Plantation Room show. Ralph Lowe, the man from "Oklahoma!” put in his second appearance at the Colonial and doubled as master of ceremonies.
Comedian Al Bernie stayed around to provide the laughs and a dancer named Sena still undulates in the mysterious middle eastern manner.
Bernie keeps coming up with new stuff that is worth repeating. His latest about the Kennedy Administration: “Frank Sinatra will get a cabinet post. They’re going to call it ’Ocean’s Eleven’."
On money: "If I had a nickel for every guy who drives a Cadillac and doesn't have the money to make the next payment, I'd be able to make the next payment on my Cadillac."
“A friend of mine just had brain surgery — he didn’t need it, but you see he had this credit card..."
Sabrina brought along her amazing measurements and a few songs. Some — like "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" and "Natural Man" — she sang well. Some others strained her limited range a bit too much.
But, of course, it’s almost worth the trip to the beach just to see her waltz on stage in her striking white gown.
Between acts, Lowe was as golden-voiced as last time — with tunes like his personal favorite “Wings of the Wind’* and always-popular “Sorrento.”

Gang's All Here
LATE HOUR HOLLY'S, especially on weekend nights, is getting to be the LINDY'S OF THE BEACHES.
If you’d been there In the late P.M. to early A.M. Saturday, you'd have seen beautous [sic] KAY STEVENS and party (from Davy Jones Locker), glamor blonde SABRINA (from the Colonial Inn) and all three HALOS, the BARONAIRES (music men from Mike Delson's and the TR0PICAIRES (from the Beach and Surf Club), Holly's manager [indecipherable] HAHN says STEVENS and SABRINA and perky O'DAY are as good looking over a corned beef on rye as behind the footlights.
God only knows what the first sentence means.

El Morocco may never be the same. Sabrina made the entrance last night wearing a slave girl costume with at least four feet of bare midriff and many inches of bare decolletage! She'd been to a charity party and that was the garb she wore when they "auctioned her off" for $300. (The expressions on the ringsiders at Morocco were worth far more than that when she took to the dance floor with Richard Kollmar .)

23 April 1961 - St Joseph News-Press
New Jargon for Sheree
HOLLYWOOD (AP) - Sheree North, who left show business to marry a psychiatrist, is back again with a whole new jargon.
Back in the days when she was under contract at 20th Century-Fox, Sheree used to talk like a beatnik before anybody knew what a beatnik was.
Sheree's comeback will take place May 4 when she opens with the "Playgirls Revue" at Reno’s Riverside hotel. She had gained her early fame on Broadway as a dancer.
Sabrina, the British version of Jayne Mansfield, is also in the act. When a newsman asked Sheree for a description of the act, she replied:
‘'We’ll all be sextroverts in the "Playgirls Revue," but that doesn’t mean we'll be sintroverts, which is simply carrying the whole thing too far.
"In selling the aura of sex in show business you can be a success. If you carry it too far, it becomes sexcess.”
And that’s how the new Sheree North talks these days.

Caption: Sabrina, pictured on her visit to Sydney three years ago.
Sabrina, the blonde English actress who toured Australia three years ago, may be back in Sydney next month.
A SPOKESMAN for the Revue nightclub, which opened in Sydney last week, said that Sabrina had accepted offers to come to Sydney to appear at the nightclub. He said the engagement would also mean television appearances for her during her stay, which is expected to be about two months.
Sabrina arrived in Australia in November, 1958, and stayed about a year. Her movements since have been difficult to follow, but she is now in New York.
The English star's most
important television performance on her last Sydney visit was in the Stan Freberg Show, which was produced by ATN 7.
