I wish Sabrina would embrace ME, Lord Denham tells a Chelsea Pensioner

Bouquets were presented to the Marchioness of READING and Lady BIRDWOOD at a charity performance of the play A Dead Secret, at the Piccadilly Theatre last night. But not by the usual little girls in white socks and frilly dresses.

Instead, two bewhiskered and bemedalled Chelsea Pensioners handed over the flowers with splendid aplomb.

They were among a large party of Pensioners who had arrived in two coachloads from the Royal Hospital.

Sergeant ERNEST MACDONALD presented Lady Birdwood with her bouquet.

Sergeant JIMMY WOOD did likewise to Lady Reading — and admitted that he was an old hand at the job.

He told Lord DENHAM : “The last one I presented was to Sabrina.”

Then, fumbling in his pocket, he produced a well-thumbed photograph of himself being embraced by Sabrina.

Said Lord Denham : “ Hm ... wish she'd do that to me.”

He and Sabrina just started dating recently. Before that, she was seen mainly with scenarist Abby Mann .

There is a definite relationship between sex drive and extra-sensory perception. Many people, especially women, who have a lot of "sex appeal," also have had psychic experiences or at least a strong interest in sixth-sense phenomena...

Sabrina is a startlingly proportioned television and nightclub personality who has made a name for herself in her native England.

When I met her, she was living in an east side apartment in New York City in which she felt strangely uncomfortable.

Knowing of my knowledge of psychic matters, she freely confided in me and asked for my help.

The apartment certainly had a "presence" in it, but Sabrina stuck it out until she went to California where her psychic sensitivity still comes in nicely once in a while when she knows just what will happen next. As so many show business people do.

Sabrina, whose real name is Norma Sykes, believes in astrology and telepathy.

Sabrina admited to me that she tore up the marriage license they took out.
"I still see him," she said,"but the marriage just didn't figure to be a success.

I spend part of my time in London. I couldn't expect him to leave his practice and accompany me there."

Aged 31, Sabrina marries Dr Harold Ludwig Melsheimer , a wealthy Hollywood ob-gyn in LA. They settle down in Encino, CA. Sabrina continues occasional film, television, theatre and nightclub appearances.

She quits showbusiness and eases back into an opulent married life, complete with a 40ft yacht, sports cars, mink stoles and Hollywood parties. Her Doberman Pinscher has its own bedroom and bathroom.

It baffles me why there are no articles, photos or references to the wedding anywhere on the internet. Most odd.

Sabrina weds
Sabrina, the 29 - year old blonde British showgirl, has married American surgeon Harry Melsheimer in Hollywood, her parents, said at their Blackpool home last night. "I wasn't a bit surprised," her mother said.

It's amazing how little impact Sabrina's wedding had on the media. Only 6 lines in an English newspaper, no mention at all in American papers, and I'm still searching for a single photo of the event.

SABRINA, the blonde English showgirl with the voluptuous figure, is married, it was revealed last night.
Her husband, Dr. Harold Melsheimer, 32. is a Hollywood surgeon, who owns a luxury home with a swimming pool.
Sabrina told her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sykes, about the wedding in an early-morning phone call.
"Guess what," she said, "I've just got married."
Mrs. Ann Sykes, of Chislehurst Avenue, Blackpool, said: "I wasn't a bit surprised, because last time Sabrina rang she said she thought she might be getting married."
She added: "Sabrina and her husband have been friends for some time."
Sabrina, 29, told her mother: "He's tall, dark and handsome. I know that sounds corny, but it's the only way to describe him. We're very much in love."

Sabrina married to US surgeon

Show girl Sabrina telephoned her parents in Blackpool today from. California to say: "I'm married."

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sykes who took the call at their Chislehurst Avenue home, heard their daughter had a few hours before, married Dr. Harold Meilheimer (32), a surgeon with a Hollywood practice.

Her mother said: "She had told me that she had met a doctor, and how nice he was, and said that he wanted to marry her."

Sabrina - real name Norma Sykes - has been in the United States since 1963.
