| Sabrina (neé Norma Ann Sykes) meets Bondi lifesaver during tour of Australia. 10 September 2012 - Robyn wrote to say: Hi - the photo of Sabrina with the Bondi lifesaver - his name is Antony Treers , and he was from the North Bondi Lifesaving Club. He was my first boyfriend, and amazingly, we were still together for years after this photo was taken, on the steps of the Sydney Town Hall, where the lifesavers were forming a "guard of honor" for Sabrina when she was given a civic reception from the Sydney City Council. Hope this is of interest!! |

| Not a great photo of our Sabby: cropped for publication, obviously. In the pic's filename was "12 November 1958, Australia" - but it was actually her departure from London. Thanks to Simeon for 'shopping out the editor's cropping marks!

| Sabrina in St Kilda, Melbourne. (Around 1959) 13 May 2010 - Chris wrote to ask me to pass a message to Sabrina... I have just bought a house in St Kilda, in Melbourne. Part of the attraction was the house used to be something of a party joint in the 50's. I received photos from the previous owners passed down from the original owners that include your good self enjoying a swanky do. They 'claim' you were a regular visitor! On looking you up on the internet I discovered you are a Stockport girl. I am from Altrincham so it just shows what a small world it is. It would be fascinating to talk to you and learn about the scene in yesteryear. Best regards ChrisAnd Chris attached two photos! |

| Found 3 Feb 2017: the only definite provenance of this photo says "Sydney", and "in the 1950s" so it could have been taken in Sabrina's first visit. You will need to click the thumbnail to appreciate the Peeping Tom with his head poking through the venetian blinds! |

| 04 Jan 1962: " Sporting a cute bow and newly acquired American accent, actress and nightclub entertainer Sabrina (Norma Sykes) returned to Australia to see her friend Lee Gordon*. Sabrina had just completed a film, 'Satan in High Heels' , in Hollywood, but acting was never her greatest asset " It was an ill-fated second visit .
* Lee Gordon was an American who came to Australia
in the early 50's. He was a music promoter who had promoted Frank Sinatra,
Elvis and others in USA. He decided to do it here and hired the Sydney
Stadium. |
