Get Over, Mug!Sun-Herald , 22 Feb 1959 |
"Get over, mug!"By a special reporter A Sydney driver yesterday gave Sabrina a traditional Australian greeting. "Get over you mug! Where d'ya think you're goin?" he shouted as he passed the car in which Sabrina was being driven to Kingsford Smith Airport. But this episode did not shake Sabrina's views on Sydney. She flew in from Melbourne on Friday afternoon and flew out again yesterday to Adelaide. "Sabby," as her mother calls her, had just got up, and had 35 minutes to catch her airliner to Adelaide when the "Sun-Herald" called on her yesterday. With the help of her business manager, Mr Ray Bolwell, we got Sabby and her baggage down to her mauve car — with a gold "S" painted on the door. Mobbed As I rode with her to Mascot, Sabrina spoke — ABOUT SYDNEY: "It reminds me of parts of Paris." She pointed a brilliantly lacquered fingernail at an ironwork-encrusted terrace and added: "It looks like Montmartre. And so does the Cross. "I've been there already." ABOUT HER SPARE TIME: "I'd like to go swimming — if I can find a private pool. "The shops here are better than those in Melbourne, but every time I go shopping I need police protection." Yesterday's picture of Sabrina walking up the steps to her flat.
